Vice President – Immediate Opportunity

Seneca Partners is one of the most productive independent sponsors in the US and focuses on investing in lower middle market sized companies with $2 million to $20+ million of EBITDA across a variety of industries including manufacturing, business services, healthcare services, tech services, B to C and specialty finance. Seneca closed five independent sponsor deals during 2020 and expects a similar level of activity in 2021. The firm is based in Southfield, Michigan and is actively looking to add talented individuals to support transactions and portfolio company growth initiatives.

Vice President Position

Seneca Partners seeks to hire a Vice President with experience leading and executing transactions in Seneca’s private company investment activities as well as “bolt on” acquisitions.  A Vice President of the firm will assist Seneca Partners to:

  • Lead and execute transactions in support of Seneca’s independent sponsor and private company investing practice;
  • Support deal sourcing, evaluation of potential target companies, and coordination of diligence activities;
  • Mentor and help develop less experienced team members;
  • Review and enhance the development of complex financial models;
  • Assist the team to draft, review and finalize offering and investment memoranda as well as management presentations;
  • Assist with marketing the firm’s principal investment strategies, services and capabilities;
  • Support the firm’s portfolio companies through ongoing advisory roles, support of potential corporate finance activities and other oversight activities.

A Vice President at Seneca will have a key role on the firm’s small transaction teams, including significant interaction with Managing Directors of Seneca, portfolio or target company management and third-party professionals.

Position Requirements

  • Five plus years of private equity, investment banking, or similar transaction experience;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to work well with private company executives and team members;
  • Demonstrated deal structuring, analytical and communications skills;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office software knowledge and capabilities;
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks, defining priorities, working through conflicts and identifying/implementing solutions;
  • Strong execution skills, ability to manage to deadlines and desire to produce excellent results;
  • Undergraduate degree required in finance, accounting or business; MBA preferred.

Compensation and Benefits Package

Overall compensation will be commensurate with experience and include salary, participation in the firm’s incentive compensation plan and other benefits program.
